Preface

In this, our second book, we cheerfully offer to our brethren and children of the Holy-Orthodox Church in the English-speaking world the Lives of the Saints, together with some lectures and a few of our sermons,—mindful of the command of our Master, who said: Freely ye have received, freely give. We have no comments to make; let the facts in the histories of the lives of holy men and women speak for themselves; we only repeat that, the Spirit breatheth where He will. Let our lectures and sermons likewise speak for themselves, as they are strictly founded upon Holy Scripture and the writings of the Holy Fathers of the Church in her early days.
